Call us to Budapest
Many travelers are surprised to learn that Budapest is a two-for-one travel destination. The two cities of Buda and Pest lie split between the banks of the powerful Danube river, one of the major ports and site for many battles of ancient Europe. With more than 20 million visitors a year, Budapest is one of Europe’s top travel destinations.
Budapest is a breathtaking ancient city is full of historical artifacts and the buzzing melody of modernism. Joining the two cities is one of the most beautiful bridges in the world, the Chain bridge. Known as the first permanent connection between Buda and Pest, it lies between Budapest parliament and Castle Hill. This parliament building is the third largest in Europe and can be visited with daily scheduled tours, a sight not to be missed. On the other side of the bridge is Castle hill. Not only the oldest part of the city, the Castle district offers the tourist many historical attractions along the walk to the top of the hill which affords a magnificent vista, rivaled only by the opposite facing Gallért Hill. It is on this hill that one finds the best panoramic views of Budapest. At 140 meters and with nature preserves dotting its picturesque hillside, many people believe the hill is where Witches rode on human’s backs to survey the city and gain power for their strange sorcery. Whether such a sorceress should grace your path you will only know after going, but you’ll be ready for a good hot soak either way by sunset. Finish a nice day of site seeing with the Szechenyl baths and then a nice beer at Beckett’s Irish bar. Although it may seem out of place to be drinking Guiness in Hungary, it is a favorite spot even with locals.
Budapest is home to the second largest synagogue in Europe and also one of the largest Roman Catholic churches in Europe, St. Stephen’s Basilica. Don’t miss out on St. Stephen’s mummified hand on your way out!
Besides being home to many of UNESCO’s world heritage sites, Budapest bounces the night clubs like the best of European cities and they are proud of the musical language one hears wafting through crooked alleyways and echoing off beautiful gothic and baroque architecture. Try wandering to Morrison’s Music Bar for an eclectic beat or the world-famous Budapest Opera house for a more sophisticated approach to the European music scene.
